At Barak Optometry we love treating children! Dr. Barak completed his residency in pediatrics at the Southern California College of Optometry and has enjoyed working within a pediatric ophthalmology practice treating a wide range of children including those with special needs.
Our pediatric exam include an examination of the internal and external parts of the eye to rule out any ocular disease and an assessment of your child's depth perception, binocular skills, and focusing skills. In addition, an objective measurement of your child's refractive error will be taken to determine if glasses are needed. Dr. Barak will discuss all findings with you during your visit and outline any visual needs your child may have.
If your child needs glasses Costco Optical will be happy to show you their wonderful selection of children's frames. Although Barak Optometry is independent of Costco Optical, we work together to provide continuity of care.
Please see our FAQ section for more information on pediatric exams.
*The American Optometric Association recommends that a child has her or his first professional eye examination at age six months, another at age three, one when the child starts school, and then at least every two years thereafter.
